Sydney Harbour Walking Track - a fantastic idea, now a reality

An eighty kilometre saunter around paradise for visitors and locals alike

Sydney— 9 December 2019  The Colong Foundation for Wilderness welcomes the walk from Bondi Beach to Manly, as a simple but valuable cooperative effort between state and local governments that will benefit tourism and locals.

“The Harbour is a living seascape full of activity and this walk will enable families to enjoy it.  Walking is the best way to engage with the scenery, allow yourself to step back from everyday worries and just enjoy the place,” said Keith Muir, of the Colong Foundation.

The walk can be started at almost any point and so it can fit into anyone’s schedule, while doing the whole walk done in stages should be on the bucket list of every vacationer, retiree and school child.

We thank Lord Mayor Clover Moore for driving this great initiative.  It will also repay the $11 million that NSW Environment Minister Matt Kean has invested in it many times over in health and happiness benefits.

I'm sure many more country and overseas visitors will now walk around Sydney Harbour, stay at the local pubs and B&Bs, and sample city life.

Such a nice Christmas Present for Sydney, thank you Clover Moore and Matt Kean.
